Sweets Galore!

Alright, I know I haven't been blogging much, which I swore I would do more of...but really, who knew life would get so crazy!!!

Aside from all of the wedding planning, I am being very strict with what I eat (what bride doesn't go through this phase?!) After moving to our first home I packed on the lbs, and now it's time to get myself back together. I'm doing well, and I really genuinely believed that I was thinking about food less often....and then I took a peek at my own blog....

Oh boy, oh boy. I think I have a problem. It seems that while I've been staying away from some of my favorite sweets in real life, I have been drooling over them via technology.

Well, I've decided to embrace the digital bakery. It's so much safer to window shop online than in real person, and so browsing I've gone....

Here are some things I must try when the wedding is over, and if you want to try them yourselves, please let me know how they go:

these waffle cookies are made in 90 seconds!
Champagne cupcakes? I think I'll have one to celebrate after the wedding!

The easiest chocolate cake ever? Oh really?

Mini cupcake cake-pops....I must be dreaming.

OK, I must stop.....

*sigh* I love sweets.

Sorry - Again!

It's been too long. I know. I'll hang my head for you. Will you feel better if I bribe you with a yummy rainbow cupcake photo??

OK, so what good is a cupcake you can see, but can't eat? Sorry for the tease...

Lately I cannot seem to keep up with the days. They seem to come and go, come and go, come and go. Then, all of a sudden, I look back and realize my poor blog has been neglected.

Good news is that since the last post (about girl scout cookies) I've made some progress in my wedding diet :) ! Just in time too, because my gown came in a few days ago!! Before the wedding diet my days consisted of going to work, coming home and blogging/designing, making dinner, walking the dog, and then going to bed. Now my days consist of work, P90X, salads, dog walking, wedding planning, and sheer panic - I mean joy!- about the upcoming wedding. Oh, and somewhere in the mix I need to remember that I'm still in grad school. Yikes.

Maybe moving forward you'll see a bit more of me, since I've hired a wedding planner to assist me for the rest of the journey. She's a blessing, and has already taken a weight off of my shoulders.

In the meantime, I've been pretty busy in the land of design. Here are some sneak peaks of some things that will soon appear in my Etsy shop (which has also, sadly, been neglected lately). I've been getting a lot of clients looking for thank-you stationery, and here are some of what's been created:

Enjoy!!

Proud Moment of the Week

I'm sure all brides can commiserate with me on this three word problem: Girl Scout Cookies.

Yes, it's that season. My office has been taken over by proud moms, dads, aunts, uncles etc trying to help their daughters meet troop goals. I was a girl scout in my youth, so I understand. The problem comes when I can't say no, so I buy a few here, a few there, and then oh! Just one more for Miss Sally's grand-daughter. Ugh, and then I arrive to work one day, broke and with a pile of cookies stacked up on my chair.

So what was my proud moment?

I didn't eat a single girl scout cookie this year. Instead I sent all the boxes to work with Mr. Law. Cops don't get the recognition they deserve, and what says "thanks for doing what you do" better than sending a few boxes of Girl Scout Cookies to the precinct? I was thanked profusely, and so next year I think I might buy even MORE boxes of cookies, and send them all to the precinct.

In fact, I might even go so far as to suggest that girl scouts head to their local precincts to thank the officers for protecting them while they sell the cookies on the street - believe it or not, but the officers have big hearts, and will probably buy a bunch of cookies!

Winning!

(sorry, that was a shameless Sheen quote)
