Now For Sale at Minted: Handy Thank You Cards

Head on over to Minted to purchase my latest design, Handy Thank You Cards.

This Handy design was so much fun to work on - it features hand drawn elements and fun typography! It was one of the first times I submitted a design to Minted that featured hand drawing. I've been trying to do a little more drawing for my designs, so be on the lookout!

Thanks A Million! Minted Submissions

As I mentioned in my last post, Minted has been having back-to-back challenges to keep us designers super busy. One of the challenges was the "Thanks A Million!" thank you card challenge. Thank you cards have always been one of my favorite things to design, and they were actually some of the very first items I had for sale in my Etsy shop.

It was a lot of fun creating these designs - I tried some new techniques and really pushed myself out of my comfort zone by using new fonts, textures, hand drawn elements and different type layouts. At the end of the day, I love the designs I submitted and am proud that it's such an obvious sign of growth for me as a designer.

Voting is still open for the Thanks A Million challenge, so please head on over and tell Minted what to sell!

Custom Recap - Emily's Wedding Thank You Cards

It may only be the middle of March, but it seems that here in NYC Spring is in the air. Which means, to me at least, that it's time for Spring cleaning. I've been trying to clean up all of the folders on my computer, as well as all my pictures, designs, fonts etc. It's amazing how unruly things can become over time!

One good part of all this cleaning and organizing, is that I'm finding a lot of pictures of projects I did in the past and, for whatever reason, never ended up posting. So, as I clean up, I've decided to start a mini-series on my blog for "Custom Recaps" where I show off the custom projects I've created. I wish I could call the series "Recent Projects" but the truth is, some of these things are several years old now!

Which brings me to my very first Custom Recap that I want to share. These thank you cards were designed for my husbands cousin, Emily and her husband Sal. You may remember them from the blog post where I shared the creative wedding gift I got them. Their wedding was amazing, and Emily was in my bridal party this past year, so I was honored and flattered when she asked me to create her wedding thank you cards. She asked for something simple, elegant and using hints of deep purple. We ended up with a simple photo card and accenting it with a lovely metallic envelope in a gorgeous eggplant color.

I can't believe the wedding was nearly a year and a half ago! Time flies, but with Emily's amazing taste and this simple design, these thank you cards will still be amazing for years to come.

Some Snaps Before I Nap....

It's 11pm - that is SO beyond my bedtime!! I stayed home all day today to focus on my business. After many cups, correction - pots, of coffee, countless new blogs and websites added to my favorites, and about 15 online tutorials later, I have managed to accomplish more today than I have in a few months. Might I add how much more productive I am when I don't have a wedding to plan!!!

So today I made myself a little light box so that I could take better pictures for my Etsy shop. I have a long ways to go, but the pics are definitely an improvement. Here are a few shots of new items getting ready to hit the ground running...

Stay tuned! I should be listing all of the above on Etsy within the next week or so! Oh, and if you haven't yet, pretty please show the love on my new facebook page by giving me a "like" click!!!

Back to the basics....

Alright, so maybe I've slightly forgotten that this blog is meant to be for stationary and paper design, but how could I not get caught up in home ownership and puppy mischief!

The past few months have been chaos, but as always, design and printing has been my outlet, here are a few things I have been working on:

Here are a few fun cards from Valentine's Day...

Here are a few house warming invitations...

Here's a little note I made for all the nice folks that bought our new pup a gift...

Some fabulous save-the-dates (I say fabulous because they're mine!)

And one of my most popular  'thank you' notes

Enjoy!!!

HELLO winter!

Anybody else have a totally crazy holiday season and winter?? It's nuts! I'm pretty sure I have some major time judgment issues, I cannot believe tomorrow is February!!

The past month, for me, has been filled with creativity, fun, and lots of work. Here are some of my personal favorites:

Cards I made for some of my family members, friends, and future family members. I love creating things for family, it's so personal for me, and while making a client happy is the goal, it's just amazing when I get to make my family happy:

This was my holiday card this year, which is my absolute favorite card of all time:

Congrats to a very special couple and your first child!!':

Elegant Thank-You cards:

Oh, and my new slippers which have been doing a fab job of keeping my tootsies warm! :]
